[6th MABIK Science Fair] Application Guide of Fair

The National Marine Biodiversity Institute of Korea (MABIK) is hosting the "6th MABIK Science Fair."
This Fair allows students to develop their creativity by identifying and solving problems, providing an opportunity to study marine biology through a wide lens that includes natural sciences, humanities, and arts.
We invite your interest and participation in this fair, which will award prizes to 34 teams.
>
■ Eligible Participants:
Domestic and international youth teams (2 ~ 4 students and 1 supervising teacher)
- The supervising teacher must be a current employee.
■ Research Topic: Any free topic related to marine life
※ Any topic related to marine life is acceptable.
■ Activity Period: June to October 2024
■ Activities: Independent research, report writing, and presentation of results
Participants are encouraged to enjoy the process over the results in self-directed research activities.
■Benefits for Finalist Teams:
- Each team receives 600,000 KRW for activities (includes transportation costs, no further accounting required).
- Free expert lectures on Marin biology.
- Prizes include a total of 68 awards (20 for international teams, including domestic teams).
- Publication of a research achievements booklet (including an E-BOOK) and display at the SeaQrium (MABIK’s Marine Life Museum)

- [Form 2] research plan (within 5 A4 pages)
- [Form 3] Consent form for the collection/use of personal information and Delegation of handling tasks (required for all students and teachers)
- [Form 4_Optional] If the supervising teacher is from another school, a statement explaining the reason for choosing a teacher from a different school must be attached
