5th MABIK Fair 2022

From May to Oct. 2022

The 5th fair focused on the theme of "Marine Life and Carbon Neutrality," engaging in various exploratory activities. During the preliminary round, a total of 106 teams from 35 cities and counties nationwide and two foreign countries applied. Through the main round, 25 domestic teams and 2 foreign teams were selected as winners.

Grand Prix (Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries Award)

• Elementary: Sea Expedition Team / 'To Protect the Ocean, Exploring the Sea Forest of Gijang County'

• Middle School: The Future of the Sea Within the Text / 'Production of Eco-Friendly Soundproofing using Marine Bioproducts'

• High School: Comparison & Contrast / 'Development of High-Efficiency CO2 Absorption Device using Phytoplankton and Seaweed'

4th MABIK Fair 2020

From May to Sep. 2020

The 4th Fair was held online due to COVID-19 During the preliminary round, a total of 131 teams from 39 cities and counties nationwide applied. Through the main round, a total of 28 teams were selected as winners.

Grand Prix (Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries Award)

• Elementary: Si(Sea)gnal / 'Investigating the White-Spotted Crabs living on Yeongjong-do'

• Middle School: The Ocean is a Treasure / 'Creating Safe Insulation using Agar and Shell (Calcium Carbonate)'

• High School: Mr. CEO / 'Let's Make Disinfectants using Inshore hagfish and Common pike conger'

3rd MABIK Fair 2018

From May to Oct. 2018

The 3rd Fair focused on self-directed exploratory activities, conducted as a free study of marine life topics. During the preliminary round, a total of 106 teams applied from 17 cities and counties nationwide. Through the main round, a total of 28 teams were selected as winners

• Elementary Shellfish Expedition Team / 'Creating a Guidebook for Shellfish species on Geoje-do'

• Middle School: With Ocean / 'Research on the Impact of Shipping's carbon emissions on Marine environment and life'

• High School: Hello, Ocean:) / 'Development of a Learning Kit through Marine organisms for Effective biofilm removal

2nd MABIK Fair 2017

From June to Oct. 2017

The 2nd Fair focused on free research of marine life, from microorganisms to marine mammals A total of 91 teams applied during the preliminary round, and 30 domestic teams were selected as winners through the main round.

Grand Prix (Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries Award)

• Elementary: Sea Dreamer / 'Creating a Math dictionary of Marine biology through Mathematical interpretation'

• Middle School: Sea Urchin Friends / 'Saving Seaweed Forests through Sea urchin feeding preferences'

• High School: Baby Shark / 'Modeling the structure of a Whale Shark's suckers and Developing flooding-prevention pads'

1st MABIK Fair 2016

From July to Nov. 2016

In 2016, the 1st MABIK Fair was held to provide youth with an opportunity to creatively research marine life and to expand interest in marine biology. A total of 256 teams applied from 17 cities nationwide during the preliminary round and 30 teams were selected as winners through the main round.

Grand Prix (Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries Award)

• Elementary: Sea STAR / 'Research marine life in our region where Rivers Meet the Sea'

• Middle School: Seal Rocks / 'Monitoring and conservation measures for the Spotted Seals of Baengnyeong-do'

• High School: Incheon Marine Club / 'Research on reducing fluid resistance through Mimicking scallop surface and designing efficient drainage systems'
